Power editing can be done just about anywhere in Shotgun where you have a list of things. Right-clicking on an item - let's say an Asset - will reveal the context menu with a handful of options. We're interested in two of the options: Edit [field] on Selected and Edit Selected...
The first option - Edit [field] on Select - will allow you to update one field for all the selected items. For example, select all the Versions on a page, right-click while hovering over the Status field, and choose Edit Status on Selected... You'll be able to see a menu that allows you to select the new status and apply it to all of the items you have selected.
If you need to update multiple fields on multiple items at once, Edit Selected... is your friend. Once you've opened the editor dialog, you'll see a list of the editable fields. (You can even show additional fields if the one you need to update isn't listed.) Just make any needed updates here and press the save button to commit the changes. The update is pushed to all of the items you had selected.
Once you've given the above a whirl, go ahead and +2 your Shotgun experience points.
Catch you back here in two weeks for the next tip!
